Activity Center
We offer extended hours for all children enrolled in the school:
Mornings from 8:00 – 9:00; and after program hours until 5:00.
Tot’s and Two’s ( 1.5 – 2.5 years )
There is so much growth and change for our two year olds, and the abilities between our “almost” twos, younger twos and older twos can vary widely. At this age, children develop very quickly in all areas: language, physical abilities, emotional control and cognitive awareness. It is a frustrating experience for a young two to have to keep up with someone six or seven months older. To help alleviate some of this frustration, we have three separate programs:
Preschool ( 2.5 – 3.5 years )
As with our two year olds, we provide two classrooms for our threes: younger threes (3 – 3 1/2 ) and older three’s (3 1/2 – 4 ). Children develop so quickly at this age and consequently, there is a great difference between social, physical and cognitive skills. We think all threes should have a schedule and activities appropriate to their development level.
Pre-Kindergarten ( 3.5 – 4.5 years )
Our pre-k program (4-4/12) teaches the children the necessary skills to succeed in kindergarten. Name writing, letter recognition and sound, number recognition and concept, and pre-reading skills are incorporated into all activities. The Pre-K classroom is print-rich: around the room are words, pictures, and signs to help and encourage the children to recognize many site words, and to relate them to their knowledge of the written word.
Pre K + ( 4.5 – 5+years )
Our Pre-K + (4 1/2 – 5+) is for the oldest children at Growing Tree! This is a year to hone skills and build confidence. This program follows a Kindergarten prep curriculum. Language, art, social studies, math and science are all a part of their days. Writing and reading activities as well as estimating, graphing, music and movement are incorporated into the daily schedule.read more >
